3 Day Murchison Falls National Park Safari

Welcome to the Pearl of Africa (Uganda) and you’re lucky to be choosing a 3 day murchison falls national park visit to Uganda’s largest conservation area. Murchison Falls National Park covers an area of 3.893kmsq and it is home to 79 mammal species and about 345 birds. A safari to Murchison falls combines a visit to the famous Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a rhino tracking adventure thus leading to an African big 5s Safari.

Murchison Falls National Park is home to 4 of Africa’s big five animals, that is the Lion, Leopard, Elephants and the African Cape Buffalo. So tracking Rhinos at Ziwa which is also a member of the African big fives could make your safari a success just if you want to see all the big game animals in the wild!

Reservations

The bookings with the hotels mentioned in the program depend on availability. Reservations will only be made after your booking. In case the mentioned hotels are not available during the requested period, we will do our utmost best to book a hotel in the same class for you (of course we will only do this after consulting you). It is not possible to ‘reserve’ gorilla and chimpanzee permits. Therefore, we can only buy them after your booking and down-payment and also here it all depends on availability.

Transport

Our standard offering for mid-range tours is a 4wd minibus with pop-up roof for easy safari viewing. All passengers will have a dedicated window seat. Your professional and courteous driver/guide will be at your disposal for questions or translations.

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

On this day in the morning, you will be picked up from your lodge by our EBS Tours & Safaris driver/guide and be transferred to the north-west of Uganda through Nakasongola to Murchison Falls National Park. With a stop at the home of the southern-white rhinos where you will trek on foot to see them in their natural habitat with an armed ranger guide to ensure your safety.

This is the only place in Uganda where you can see Rhinos in the wild and seeing them here will enhance your chances of seeing the African Big5 animals on your safari. It takes about 2-3 hours and after you will have lunch at Kabalega Dinners along the way to the park.

You will drive to the park after having lunch and it takes about 2 hours so you will definitely reach in the early evening and drive to the top of the world’s most powerful waterfalls. And after enjoying the beauty of this beautiful waterfall, your guide will take you to the place where you will spend the night.

Day 2: Early Morning Safari & Afternoon Boat Trip on the Nile

Very early in the morning with your packed breakfast, you will head out from your lodge and go for a morning game-viewing experience. With vast abundance of big game in the park, you will be rewarded with high chances of spotting lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, giraffes and more antelopes as well as some rare species like the spotted hyenas, genets, pangolins if lucky.

Your guide will take you to a designated place in the wild where you can enjoy your breakfast in the wild and after you will return at the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon go for a boat cruise to the bottom of the Murchison Falls.

Day 3: Transfer from Murchison Falls to Kampala or Entebbe

Today will mark the end of our spectacular 3 days and 2 nights safari. And not so early we will depart from Murchison falls and drive back to Kampala or Entebbe for your departure with stopovers for lunch.
