3 Day Lake Mburo Walking Safari

These 3 days Lake Mburo Walking Safari is one of Uganda’s most spectacular wildlife encounters. It starts from Kampala or Entebbe and end in the same destinations. Lake Mburo National Park is the only place in Uganda where you can do a walking safari besides gorilla trekking.

From Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park takes just 2-3 hours of driving through the famous Masaka-Mbarara high-way and reaching in the park in the afternoon and do a boat cruise.

This safari gives tourist a clear opportunity of getting close with wildlife on a walking safari with armed ranger guides who professionally explains the beauty of this wild whisper. You will also do horse-riding in the park or an option cycling.

Dates: Since this is a private tour, departure can be organised for anytime throughout the year subject to the availability of accommodation and transport.

Reservations

The bookings with the hotels mentioned in the program depend on availability. Reservations will only be made after your booking. In case the mentioned hotels are not available during the requested period, we will do our utmost best to book a hotel in the same class for you (of course we will only do this after consulting you). It is not possible to ‘reserve’ gorilla and chimpanzee permits. Therefore, we can only buy them after your booking and down-payment and also here it all depends on availability.

Transport

Our standard offering for mid-range tours is a 4wd minibus with pop-up roof for easy safari viewing. All passengers will have a dedicated window seat. Your professional and courteous driver/guide will be at your disposal for questions or translations.

Day 1: Airport pick up

Your driver/guide will be at Entebbe Airport to pick you up from your flight and take you directly to your lodge in Entebbe. Depending on your time of arrival, you will visit some iconic places in Entebbe town and then after have dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

After having your breakfast in the morning (7:30 am) your guide will be brief you about the journey to Uganda’s closest National Park to Kampala and after drive south west to Lake Mburo National Park. It takes just about 2-3 hours of driving from Entebbe to Lake Mburo so you will have a stop at the famous Uganda Equator monument and feel the experience of the 0 degrees latitude.

After you will proceed to the park and have lunch and after go to the boat trip to experience the water life of this hidden gem. The boat takes 2 hours and after you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Walking Safari or Horse Riding and Transfer to Entebbe

After breakfast at the lodge, you will hit the African bush for a walking safari in Lake Mburo National Park. This park is the only place in Uganda where you can see Impalas in the wild, and besides Kidepo Valley National Park, you can also see Zebras and the majestic common Elands from here.

Prepare to walk through herds of the beautiful wildlife like, the giraffes, impalas, zebras, cape buffalos and so many other species that call this park home.

Alternatively, you can do wildlife viewing on a horse, so incase of a horse-riding option please let us know in advance. After you will return to the lodge, pack your things and we depart to Entebbe with a stop at Elite Backpackers in Masaka for lunch.

And that will mark the end of our trip to Lake Mburo National Park.
