Gorilla and chimp permits
Gorilla and Chimpanzee Trekking permits can only be booked after confirmation and down payments of your booking. And it always depends on availability.
Transport
Our standard offering for wildlife safaris is a 4×4 customized safari vehicle with a pop-up roof for easy safari viewing. All passengers will have a dedicated window seat. Your professional and courteous driver/guide will be at your disposal for questions or translations.
Booking
Accommodation on the last day is not included, please let us know in advance if you want us to book an extra day accommodation just in case.
The bookings with the hotels mentioned in the program depend on availability. Reservations will only be made after your booking.
In case the mentioned hotels are not available during the requested period, we will do our utmost best to book a hotel in the same class for you (of course we will only do this after consulting you). It is not possible to ‘reserve’ gorilla and chimpanzee permits. Therefore we can only buy them after your booking and down-payment and also here it all depends on availability.

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to your lodge for overnight
Upon arrival at the airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our EBS Tours & Safaris representative and transfer to your lodge for overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Mabamba Swamp for the rare Shoebill Stork or Kampala City Tour
Today after having your breakfast at the lodge, our driver/guide will take you to one of the chosen activity to be done today, you will decide to either do a city tour in exploring Uganda’s Capital City (Kampala or decide to take on the famous Mabamba swamp which is one of East Africa’s most sought birding paradise. It is home to the rare Shoebill stork which is the highlight of the day for everyone visiting this place.
Have lunch at Nkima Forest Lodge if you are to do Mabamba or have lunch in Kampala if you are to do the Kampala city tour.

Day 3: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Start your day by having a heavy breakfast at your Hotel in Entebbe. The guide will then come and pick you up and transfer you to Murchison Falls National Park which is Uganda’s largest National park. The park is a habitat for animals like elephants, buffaloes, giraffe and a variety of antelopes. En route, you will stop at the famous Ziwa Rhino sanctuary to trek and see the southern white rhinos on foot. Ziwa Rhino sanctuary is the only place in Uganda where you can see rhinos in the wild and for many travlers visiting Uganda, it is a must to visit this unique wildland.
You will then proceed and visit the famous Murchison Falls, this is the world’s most powerful waterfalls and from here you will witness one of earth’s most magnificent encounters. Every second the Murchison falls powers water equivalent to 200 bathtubs that is to say 3000 cubic meters per second.

Day 4: Early morning Safari and afternoon boat trip on the River Nile
Today with our packed breakfast, you will go for a game drive on the Northern Bank of River Nile. The activity takes about 3-5 hours and Wildlife in the Park includes elephants, Rothschild giraffes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, Hartebeest, Uganda kobs, Oribis and waterbucks. After the drive you will return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon go for a launch cruise on the Albert Nile which will give you an exciting panoramic view at the bottom of the mighty Murchison falls. Along the cruise, you will encounter crocodiles, hippos, and birds on the river banks like kingfishers, cormorants, bee-eaters and the rare shoebill stork. Dinner and overnight

Day 5: Transfer to Kibale National Park
Today after breakfast, you will transfer to Kibale forest National Park. It is almost a full day drive or even longer from Murchison Falls and en route, you will bypass big tea plantations. You will have lunch in Fort portal town after which you will proceed to the park. Relax (Camp fire) and later have dinner and overnight

Day 6: Chimpanzee treks and Bigodi Swamp Walk
After breakfast, you will set out for track our closest relatives, the Chimpanzees. Kibale Forest is famously known as the world’s primate capital because it is home to about 13 species of primates. After lunch go for a nature walk in the Bigodi swamp area and look out for most of the water loving bird species. The Park has almost 335 species of birds and therefore a good place for birders. Return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Early in the morning after breakfast transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park in the south of Kibale National Park. It is just a 2 hours drive so you will have lunch at your lodge and after prepare for a sunset safari in the medley of wonders.
You may be able to see a lot of animal species such as the Elephants, lions, buffaloes, Leopards, monkeys such as the black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys etc.
Other animals that can be seen are the bush pigs and the warthogs, antelopes such as the topi, water and the bush bucks. Return late in the evening for dinner and overnight stay

Day 8: Early morning safari and afternoon boat trip on the Kazinga Channel
Early in the morning with our packed breakfast, we will go for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park area which is well known as the Kob mating grounds and therefore in this place one is able to see a lot of kobs and other antelopes like the waterbucks, and the hyenas. Other animals can also be spotted such as the Elephants, lions, and many more. This takes 2-3 hours and after your guide will take you a suitable place to have your breakfast while viewing the crater lakes.
Return to the camp for lunch and in the afternoon go for a Launch cruise on the Kazinga channel. You may be able to see a lot of crocodiles along the channels bank sides, a lot of the hippopotamus since in Africa this place is regarded as the highest concentration of the hippos, elephants taking water and a lot of bird species at the pelican point. Return for dinner and overnight stay late in the evening.

Day 9: Transfer to Ishasha for the Tree Climbing Lions
Today after breakfast, you will transfer to the southern section of Queen Elizabeth National Park, the Ishasha, home to the world’s famous tree climbing lions. The best time to see them is in early hours of the morning.
You will proceed to your lodge for lunch and relaxation and in the evening do a sunset safari in the Ishasha plains.

Day 10: Early morning safari and dinner at sunset in Ishasha
Early morning after having your breakfast at the lodge, you will set out for a search of the rarest tree climbing lions which call this park home. In the world, lions that climb trees can only be found in Lake Manyara (Tanzania) and Queen Elizabeth National Park (Uganda).
Have lunch at your lodge and rest, evening bush dinner and overnight.

Day 11: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Today not so early after having your breakfast at the lodge, you will transfer to the home of the famous Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. A drive from Ishasha takes about 5 hours on the rough bumpy terrains, so you will feel as well as enjoying the African massage. Have lunch at your lodge, Dinner and overnight stay

Day 12: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi and Batwa Community Tour
Early in the morning after breakfast, your guide will take you to the park headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking before you head into the forest to look for them.
This is a once in a life time experience and an unforgettable adventure. You will be given 2 armed ranger guides who will lead you and you’re tracking group into the thick forest and start your search for the endangered Mountain Gorillas. You will move up and down the rugged terrain until you finally meet these harmonious creatures that will entertain you with performances for about 1hour. The activity can take 6-7 hours since the gorillas move up and down. This is an awesome and exciting moment, you are advised to go with packed lunch, and at least 2 liters of drinking water. In the evening you will go and visit one of Africa’s most ancient tribal groups, the Batwa group of people. These are the people who used to share the forest with gorillas before it was gazette as a protected area and they will show you how they used to survive with wild animals back then.

Day 13: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi and Canoeing at Sunset
Today not so early, we shall drive from Bwindi to Africa’s second deepest lake (Lake Bunyonyi). This is for many travelers a thrilling visit since Lake Bunyonyi is the only place where foreigners are allowed to swim. It is free from any disease most especially bilharzia and it is one of the world’s most beautiful lakes.
Have lunch and rest and in the evening take on a canoe to explore the hidden gems around this beautiful place. You will return late in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 14: Lake Bunyonyi Islands Tour
Today after having breakfast no early, (10:00am) you will have a boat cruise to explore the famous 29 islands of Lake Bunyonyi. The Lake is the second deepest in Africa after Lake Tanganyika in Tanzania so you are advised to be cautious following your guide’s rules and regulations. Undoubtedly the most beautiful lake in East Africa.
Return to your lodge for Lunch and Leisure in the afternoon.

Day 15: Transfer to Musanze Rwanda
Breakfast will be served on time today and after you will transfer to Musanze in Rwanda. It is about 4 hours of driving from Lake Bunyonyi to Musanze so you will reach in the afternoon and have lunch at your lodge, dinner and overnight.

Day 16: Golden Monkey Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Today you will wake up early and have your breakfast, after your guide will drive you to Volcanoes National Park for a thrilling golden monkey trekking. On earth, Golden Monkey trekking can be done only in the Virunga Mountains so you will arguably enjoy this ultimate experience.
You’re advised to go with packed lunch and at least 2 liters of drinking water since golden monkey trekking can take 2-4 hours or longer than that. After trekking to meet them in their natural habitat, tourists are always given a full hour of interacting with them and after you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 17: Transfer to Lake Kivu
Today not so early, after having breakfast at your lodge, you will embark on a 2 hours journey to Lake Kivu in gisenyi. Reaching in the afternoon and have lunch at your lodge and explore the community in the evening.

Day 18: Lake Kivu Islands Tour and Leisure
Today you will have a relaxed breakfast at your lodge, and after have a boat cruise to explore the hidden gems of Africa’s most beautiful sand beaches. It is normally an half hours boat ride so you will return to your lodge for lunch and afternoon at leisure. Dinner and Overnight.

Day 19: Transfer to Kigali City in Rwanda
Today after having breakfast, your guide will pick you up from your lodge and transfer to Kigali city. Reach in the afternoon and have lunch at your lodge, dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 20: Kigali City Tour
Today we shall have a Kigali City tour after having breakfast at the lodge. Kigali city is known to be the cleanest of all Africa’s cities and you just can’t underestimate the fact that tourists love it for that. We shall visit the Kigali genocide memorial, museum among others. Have lunch in Kigali and dinner/overnight at the lodge.

Day 21: Transfer to Kigali International Airport
Today will be a sad day for all of us because it will mark the end of our 21 days of Uganda & Rwanda safari. Your guide will drop you at the airport for your departure back home depending on your flight time.
