11 Day Uganda and Rwanda Safari: Unmasking Uganda and Rwanda
This 11 day Uganda and Rwanda Safari is a combined trip that will cover most of Uganda & Rwanda’s iconic safari destinations. It will start from Uganda and end in Kigali international airport. You will be visiting the famous Murchison Falls National Park with a stop to the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary to track rhinos on foot.
You will also visit the gorilla highlands, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Kibale National Park, Nyungwe National Park and the beautiful Lake Kivu before proceeding to Kigali City.

ACCOMMODATION
The bookings with the hotels mentioned in the program depend on availability. Reservations will only be made after your booking.
In case the mentioned hotels are not available during the requested period, we will do our best to book a hotel in the same class for you- of course after consulting you.
GORILLA AND CHIMP PERMITS
It is not possible to ‘reserve’ gorilla and chimpanzee permits. Therefore, we can only buy them after your bookings/down-payment and it all depends on availability.

We bring quality to your fore sight, with great customized safari vehicles (4×4) for easy wildlife viewing. All clients will have a dedicated window seat. Your professional driver/guide will be at your disposal for questions or translations.

Day 1: Arrival and Kampala City tour
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our company representative and be briefed about the country before being transferred to you r hotel for breakfast and prepare for a Kampala walking safari.
The Kampala City is Uganda’s capital and it has a lot to offer in terms of history and culture. You will discover and learn about the country’s history before independence and learn about the culture of the most dominant tribe in the country the (Baganda) you will visit the National Mosque, The King’s palace and the city center among others.
Have lunch and return to your lodge for dinner and overnight. Night life in Kampala is optional just in case you want to experience it.
Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino
On this day very early in the morning 7:00am after having your breakfast at the lodge, you will transfer to Murchison Falls National Park in the north-west of Uganda. It takes about 6-7 hours of driving however you will have a stop at the famous Ziwa Rhino sanctuary to trek on foot and see the southern white rhinos in their habitat.
Rhino trekking takes about 2-3 hours, so after the trek you will have lunch on the way and after proceed with your journey to Murchison Falls which is just 1:30 hrs of driving from Ziwa.
You will check-in at the park’s main gate in the evening and drive directly to the top of the Murchison falls where you will meet the world’s most powerful waterfalls.
This is where the Nile River squeezes itself through a narrow 7m gorge before forming a thunderous roar down 45m to find its way into Lake Albert.
After you will transfer to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Early morning safari and afternoon boat trip on the Nile
Today with your packed breakfast, you will head for a morning game viewing experience in the park to look for early risers before they return to their hideouts. The Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s largest National Park covering an area of about 3893 sqkm, with plenty of wildlife to see here. Expect to see Leopards, Lions, Elephants, Antelopes, Giraffes, Hyenas, and vast birdlife which cal this park home.
Your guide will take you to a suitable place to have your breakfast in the wild and after return to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon take on a boat trip to the bottom of the Murchison Falls.
The boat cruise takes about 2-3 hours and you will see a lot of water wildlife such as the Nile Crocodiles, Hippos, Elephants quenching thirsty, African jacanas, shoebill, pied king-fishers etc.
Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale National Park
Very after having breakfast at your lodge, you will transfer to Kibale National Park further south-west of Murchison Falls, it is a long drive but worth the landscapes to photograph. You will see the famous Albertine Rift Valley which is part of the African Great Rift Valley and you see the famous tea plantations of Uganda before reaching Fort Portal. You will have a stop in Fort Portal for lunch and after proceed to the park for dinner and overnight.

Day 5:Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Swamp Walk
Today after having breakfast very early at your lodge, your guide will take you to the park head-quarters for briefing about Chimpanzee trekking. Briefly the trek takes about 2-3 hours but it can also take longer depending on where chimps are. Kibale forest is dubbed as the world’s primate capital because of its high potential in harboring primates. It is home to about 13 different species of primates and it’s the main attraction for those looking for chimpanzee trekking in Africa.
You are advised to wear long sleeved clothes to avoid thorns in the forest and after meeting the specific family that you are tracking, tourists are always given a full hour of interacting with chimps and taking pictures is allowed but without the camera flash because that may annoy the Chimps.
Return to your lodge for lunch and in the evening take on a bigodi swamp walk to explore the hidden gems of the outskirts of Kibale forest.
You will see a lot of other primates during this walk like the vervet monkeys, bird, colobus monkeys, etc.

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Today not so early after having your breakfast at the lodge, you will transfer to the home of the famous Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. A drive from Kibale forest takes about 5 hours on the rough bumpy terrains, so you will feel as well as enjoying the African massage. Have lunch in Kabale and after proceed to the impenetrable forest for Dinner and overnight stay

Day 7: Gorilla trekking and Batwa Community Tour
Have your breakfast not so early today and then after start the journey to the gorilla highlands, this where the highlight of Uganda’s wildlife is based and from here in the impenetrable mountain gorillas share the habitat with chimpanzees and this is the only forest in Africa to own this claim. Reach in the early evening and check-in at your lodge for refreshing and relaxation. Dinner and overnight

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking and Batwa community tour
Early in the morning after breakfast, your guide will take you to the park headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking before you head into the forest to look for them.
This is a once in a life time experience and an unforgettable adventure. You will be given 2 armed ranger guides who will lead you and you’re tracking group into the thick forest and start your search for the endangered Mountain Gorillas. You will move up and down the rugged terrain until you finally meet these harmonious creatures that will entertain you with performances for about 1hour. The activity can take 6-7 hours since the gorillas move up and down. This is an awesome and exciting moment, you are advised to go with packed lunch, and at least 2 liters of drinking water. In the evening you will go and visit one of Africa’s most ancient tribal groups, the Batwa group of people. These are the people who used to share the forest with gorillas before it was gazette as a protected area and they will show you how they used to survive with wild animals back then.

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Kivu
Today very early in the morning after having our breakfast, you will transfer to Lake Kivu from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. We will have a stop to explore the twin crater lakes of Bulera and Ruhondo. These are one of the most spectacular crater lakes located right on the foothills of the Virunga Mountains. After we will proceed with our journey to Lake Kivu. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 10: Lake Kivu Boat Cruise and Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
Today you will have a relaxed breakfast at your lodge, and after have a boat cruise to explore the hidden gems of Africa’s most beautiful sand beaches. It is normally a half hour’s boats ride so you will return to your lodge for lunch and after transfer to Nyungwe National Park where you will do a canopy walk the following day. Dinner and Overnight.

Day 11: Canopy Walk and transfer to Kigali City for your departure
Today after having breakfast at the lodge not so early, your guide will take you to the park headquarters where you will be briefed about the canopy walk experience in the Nyungwe National Park.
This arguably one of the best top activities to do when you visit this tropical rain forest and you will definitely love it, it takes about 2 hours and after you will transfer to Kigali City for a city tour, its about 5 hours off driving, so you will reach early in the afternoon and have lunch in Kigali and after take on the Kigali city tour where you will visit some of Rwanda’s most iconic historical sites like the genocide memorial, museum etc, and after your guide will transfer you to the airport for your departure back home.
