For lots of people a childrens dream to come true; be a zoo-keeper for a day! Wake up early and join the UWEC keepers in the kitchen to prepare the food, then jump on the tractor moving from one exhibit to another and help feed an amazing array of exotic and endangered animals from giraffes to lions and elephants to rare birds. You might even get a giant Python around your neck. Are you tough enough?
Get a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes as you attend keeper briefings, participate in recording of animal behavior, or maybe even get the chance to perform health checks or help feed and rehabilitate a rescued animal. This could be your most rewarding and fulfilling day of work ever!
After this amazing experience you will make your way to the second largest town and the colonial manufacturing hub, Jinja. In Jinja the Nile River begins its journey from Lake Victoria all the way up to the Mediterranean Sea. Today you continue your journey by crossing to the west of the country to Murchison Falls National Park.
Covering an area of over 3,840 km², Murchison Falls National Park is the largest conservation area in Uganda.
The park’s name derives from its famous waterfall the mighty Murchison Falls, which are formed where the Victoria Nile powerfully forces its way through a narrow gorge before plunging 43m down with a thunderous roar. There is lion, giraffe, elephant, buffalo, leopard and more.
You will be staying at a great mid-range lodge, overlooking the River Nile. See bathing elephants and hippo from the verandah of the restaurant. There is a swimming pool as well.

Day 7: Early morning game-drive and boat cruise
Get ready for an early wake up today, so in the early morning hours animals are the most active, the sun is not yet so bright and temperatures are cooler and it offers the best time to spot wild animals.
After an early breakfast you will go out on a game drive to explore the northern part of the park.
Come eye-to-eye with the African animal kingdom: elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, different species of antelope and many tropical birds may all be spotted during the game drive. So keep your eyes open, they are all there in Murchison Falls National Park!
In the afternoon you will take a boat safari up the Nile River and through to the bottom of the Murchison Falls.
Carefully watched by crocodiles, hundreds of hippos, buffaloes, water birds, monkeys and all the other thirsty wildlife that the Nile attracts, you will reach the base of the 43-meter high Falls which approach with a thunderous sound.
After the boat safari you will hike to the top of the falls. From here you have a wonderful view and fantastic photo opportunities!
return back to your comfortable lodge, to enjoy a good meal and enjoy the views.

Today you will go to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where you will go – together with an experienced ranger for a safari to trek the rhinos. So there’s a lot you will see besides rhinos in a very close range!
Kidepo Valley and Murchison Falls National Parks once had both black and white rhinos, however widespread poaching during the Idi Amin era resulted in the disappearance of these majestic animals from the wild.
Founded in 1998, Rhino Fund Uganda works to reintroduce black and white rhinos into Uganda and runs a breeding program, as well as work to educate communities on endangered rhinos.
Today you will sleep in the family room of Amuka safari lodge. This semi-luxury lodge has everything you need in the bush so nice swimming pool and cozy environment.
It is located at a walking distance from the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary.
