14 Days Uganda Culture and Community Safari
This 14 days culture and community safari will bring you close to a Kampala City cultural safari tour and view all the seven hills in the city. Visit Namugongo shrine, the Uganda museum, Ndere cultural center and also have a chance to visit the Kabaka’s trail, visit the royal tombs as well the Kabaka’s lake; a man-made lake. Proceed and visit the Naggalabi coronation site as well as the Ssezibwa falls; for black water rafting, then head to Jinja and visit River Nile source.
Other important cultural sites to visit include, four-hundred-year-old Nakayima tree in Hoima District, Ntusi mounds as well as Bigo bya Mugenyi, Amabeere Ga’nyinamwiru, Bunyoro Kingdom in Western Uganda. A tour to Kibale Forest National Park will avail you to various primates like the red tailed monkeys, Mangabeys, Olive baboons and the famous chimpanzees.

GORILLA AND CHIMP PERMITS
It is not possible to ‘reserve’ gorilla and chimpanzee permits. Therefore, we can only buy them after your bookings/down-payment and it all depends on availability.

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to kampala
Upon arrival, meet and greet with our company representative, then transfer to your hotel in Kampala / Entebbe. Then overnight and dinner at the hotel.

Day 2: kampala city tour
After breakfast we shall go for a Kampala city tour, ‘‘the capital city’’ of Uganda,
It is known as the city of seven hills, we shall visit the Uganda martyrs shrine in Namugongo; where many Christian converts were burnt alive by one of the late kings of Buganda. While there, we shall have a chance for a brief history of the kingdom and the martyrs; then continue to the Uganda Museum. After we shall go for lunch at Nandos or any other restaurant of your choice; then after lunch, we shall drive to Ndere center for traditional food preparing and music performances. Then dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 3: Kabaka’s trail
Today we shall go for the Kabaka’s trail with packed lunch. This is much more than just sight-seeing, the Trail gives you a chance to learn about the hidden and forgotten history of Buganda, as well as to experience an authentic, traditional culture with dance, music, craft-making, spiritual healing and storytelling. The tour starts with the Buganda royal tombs in Kasubi, the traditional burial place for last four kings of Buganda; here we have a brief history of the kingdom of Buganda and also a chance to sit in the biggest grass thatched house in the whole world (by UNESCO), here we shall see the back cloth a local fabric made from a local tree. Transfer to the Kabaka’s lake a man-made lake in the suburbs of Kampala, visit the Naggalabi coronation site. Then retire for dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 4: Transfer to jinja
After an early breakfast we transfer to Jinja, visit the Sezibwa falls that emerge from a twin river; the only place where black water rafting can take place in Africa with its beauty and healing in harmony. After sightseeing, we shall continue to Jinja for lunch. Visit source of the longest River “the Nile”. From here, take a motorized canoe to see the spot where the Nile is believed to originate from, and later drive to Bujagali falls. Then overnight in Jinja town.

Day 5: Transfer to kumi
After breakfast, we transfer to Kumi. While there, we view the Nyero Rock paintings; widely recognized as one of the finest rock paintings in East Africa. The Nyero Rock paintings are surrounded by intrigue and mystery. They were drawn about 400 years ago. In the evening, drive back to Sipi falls area for overnight stay.

Day 6: Back to kampala
Hike to the Sipi falls in the morning, and return to the lodge after, prepare for a transfer to Kampala.

Day 7: Transfer to hoima
Transfer to Hoima, and visit the Nakayima tree en route; a four-hundred-year old tree enroute, near the Kampala-Fort Portal road. This is known to contain the spirit of Ndahura; a medieval Bachwezi king. Then we continue to Hoima, arrive in the evening, finally overnight and dinner at the lodge.

Day 8: Visit the Bunyoro Kingdom
Visit the kingdom Bunyoro and burial site for the late kings of Banyoro; then transfer to Fort portal. We will drive southward; down the western edge of the East African rift valley, through winding agricultural lands. While there, villagers and their children will show their friendly nature and wave out. This is a glimpse of the Ugandan way of rural life. Then we will enter the crater-lake region located underneath. Finally, overnight at the lodge.

Day 9: Drive to kibale national park, chimpanzee trekking
After an early morning breakfast, we drive to the primates capital of the world (Kibale forest)reported to be home to the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in the world. Thirteen (13) different species have been identified here. While there, we shall go for Chimp tracking. Here we also have a chance to see a variety of other primates like; the Grey-cheeked Mangabeys, Vervet, L’Hoest and Red tailed Monkeys, Olive Baboons, Red Colobus, Black and white Colobus Monkeys. Later in the afternoon, we shall drive to Tooro King’s palace for a brief history of the kingdom. Then we shall visit the burial site for late kings of Tooro Kingdom; after, visit the Nyakasura commonly known as the breasts of Nyinamwiru (“AmabereGa’nyinamwiru”). Then dine and overnight at the lodge.

Day 10: Transfer to queen elizabeth national park
After breakfast, we transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP, then game drive as you enter the park to your hotel. Here, we have a chance to view a variety of wildlife. Then dine and overnight at the lodge.

Day 11: Game drive and boat cruise along Kazinga channel
Morning game drive through Kasenyi tracks and Kob mating grounds in search for lions, Elephants, Buffalo, Hyena, Giant Forest Hogs, and other game. Then after, we shall go for an afternoon boat ride on the kazinga channel; believed to host the largest concentration of Hippos in Africa, a variety of migrant birds. We may have a chance to see a variety of other animals as they come to the channel for water. Then dine and overnight the lodge.

Day 12: Transfer to masaka
Transfer to Masaka, overnight at Hotel Brovad/ Tropic Inn.
Day 13: Transfer to sembabule district
Transfer to Ntusi in Sembabule district, visit the Ntusi mounds; these are the two man-made mounds which are locally known as Ntusi male and Ntusi female. Although most other features have been disturbed by human habitation, Ntusi village; a 1 km square is another unique example of an island of heavy archaeological depositions of later Iron Age; surrounded by a very wide expanse of barren rolling grassland. Then we shall visit Bigobyamugenyi Fort; which is around 16 km away from the mounds. In the traditions, Bigo and Ntusi are related; both being associated with the legendary Bachwezi rulers. Then overnight at Rain bow motel Sembabule. Here we may visit some schools and the local people and interact with them.
Day 14: Transfer back to kampala
Transfer back to Kampala, then stopover at the equator for coffee or tea. Later, we shall continue and stop over at Mpambire drum makers to see the process of drum making after continue to Kampala; depending on your flight time, we may visit markets like Nakasero, crafts markets at the national theatre and Buganda Road shopping for souvenirs. Then finally transfer back to airport for your return flight, to mark end of the tour.
